About Me
I am a Master Somatic Movement Therapist (MSMT) with an MA in Somatic Counseling Psychology from Naropa University, and a licensed psychotherapist in the state of Massachusetts. I have in-depth training in experiential and embodied approaches to healing, expressive arts therapies, the effects of early trauma, and the therapeutic application of mindfulness.
I come to my role as a therapist through my own long journey of survival and healing. Before I was a therapist, I was a musician, a singer, a martial artist, and an arts administrator. The performing and embodied arts are still quite central to my life, and I see my therapy work as an evolution of that. I would not be here today if it were not for the teachers, mentors, therapists, creative collaborators, and friends who have loved and challenged me along the way. It is my heartfelt belief that we are all interconnected in this wild, beautiful, and tender life.
I come from a working class background, and am the granddaughter of immigrants on both sides. My people were Greek and German farmers and my English grandmother was the adopted child of Asheknazi Jews. I am an edge seeker, a wind and water worshiper, an unrestrained giggler, and a caretaker of two sweet sister cats, Gala and Oota.
I am devoted most of all to cultivating curiosity, presence, and play. I practice these qualities so that I can ethically and effectively work with others. I believe everyone is worthy of someone able and willing to sit with them in their questions.
